July 2, 20178 yr Hi there Wondering how to do a backcourse ILS approach with the Phenom100 G1000 in autopilot when there appears to be no BC or REV button the AFCS autopilot console. Got myself into a pickle when PF3 ATC decided to vector me into Pago Pago International on RWY 23 when the ILS is on RWY 05. Thanks if you can help.
July 3, 20178 yr If there's no BC button (like on many planes) you have to handfly the approach or use the AP in heading mode. On GPS equipped planes you can cheat of course (as IRL) and build a runway extension into your flightplan ;)
July 3, 20178 yr Author Thanks J35. I can't use the GPS flightplan technique because the Phenom100 G1000 with navigraph extension won't accept a flightplan file PLN. You have to manually enter one into the G1000 each and every time which is labour intensive and you can't save the plan to disk either. Luckily Pago Pago has a VOR/DME which can be used for the instrument approach instead of the ILS. Thanks again
