FSX: SE - REX 4 Water Texture Issue

Featured Replies

Alright, so I'm having a problem with the WATER in REX 4 Texture Direct on the Steam Edition of FSX. The textures and wave animations load into the simulator as they should, but the way the water textures are being displayed at high altitudes is strange. Take a look:

As you can see, there are dark areas off to into the horizon. I've tried this in different locations, and they all result in this same phenomenon. If I descend to low altitudes, then the textures display properly.

Does anyone have any tips for this issue?

Besides being over water, where were you? I would doubt that you were in the middle of an ocean

with no land in sight with that small aircraft.  When at the higher altitude, could that be land off in

the distant horizon?  A look including the GPS display would have been helpful.

Had to take a closer look at your Avatar!  It did reveal he's using 2 fingers to push

his glasses back into place and not what I first suspected!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
