P3Dv4 availability delays

  1. 1. Would you've paid again for your ORBX scenery to be made available sooner?

Just a quick poll to see if people were willing to pay for their favourite ORBX product again to make it available sooner rather than later. I totally migrated from FSX to P3Dv4 only to find Australia void of any ORBX scenery. I wonder if payment would've expedited the compatibility process as we near 2 months of P3Dv4 public availability.

You can pay as much as you like which will not speed-up the process.

The culprit is the objectflow.dll which most airports depend on. After years of hassle with its external developer, ORBX decided to develop its own 64 bits objectflow.dll for Prepar3d4 internally. This one is under beta testing at present. I am sure, ORBX will release it (and the airports) as soon as it's bug-free, in their own interest.

I doubt throwing a few 1000 $ upon them will expedite beta testing.

Believe me, I own all ORBX products and miss the airports as much as you do. The good news is, such delays should be avoidable in the future, at least that's the idea.

Kind regards, Michael

Thank you. I choose to believe that if customers paid again, then ORBX might have been able to take a firmer stance on its developers on delivery timing and we would have got it quicker. But since there is no money involved, this seems to me that "when you get around to it" message is given to developers because they would be working for no fee, there would be no reimbursement of the cost to convert to P3Dv4.

Of course this is speculation and from what you have said, I'm likely to be wrong.
