Aircraft Orientation on Map

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there any way of changing the display Orientation  of the Users Aircraft on the map to 'Always Up'?

Thank You.

Trevor

Hi Trevor,

The main map window cannot be rotated at the moment. I will see if I can make this possible. In the meantime  you can use the MFD window. You can set the orientation of the map in the MFD to North up, Track up, DTK up or HDG up. Use the MENU button and select MAP SETUP. Selection is done using the click spots around the FMS knob (or your mouse wheel: hold down Ctrl for the large/outer knob):

To remove the engine indications select the ENGINE menu button along the bottom and then DISPL. You can also maximize the MFD display when you double click anywhere on the instrument frame (make sure the FMS button is not pressed, i.e. no blue light in the middle). You can also maximize the main map display btw by double clicking anywhere on the map.

The whole map is rotated, so you will have to rotate your head to be able to read any labels for map symbols (airports, waypoints etc.).

Make sure you set the 'Target' of the MFD to Flight or Simulator, depending on your needs.

thanks, Maarten
