February 27, 200620 yr Hey folks. Can anyone give me the specifications for the RealAir Scout package aircraft? I'm looking for:Wet weight and MTOWCruise RangeCruise Speed (in knots, if possible)As well, can anyone let me know about visible pilots in the aircraft? Are there 2 people visible, or just one, etc.I'm on the virge of buying it, but just need a bit more info. Thanks all.Steve
February 27, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Steve,As a basic run-down the Citabria and Scout cruise at about 115kts, and the Decathlon cruises at about 130kts. For a full list of performance figures including weight, MTOW, and range have a look at the page below (this is the manufacture's website):http://www.amerchampionaircraft.com/newac/newmain.htmThere is only one pilot visible in the exterior models, but like our other aircraft the pilot's head and arms are animated. His head always looks into the direction of flight and scans left/right and up for traffic, and his arms move with control inputs.
February 27, 200620 yr Hi Sean. Looks good. I just bought it, and eagerly awaiting my download URL.Cheers for the help,Steve
February 27, 200620 yr Wow. Sean, and the folks at Real Air Sims:Fantastic job. I'm flying the scout right now. Unbelievable. This is, BY FAR, the best addon that I have added to FS9.Maybe next paycheck, I'll spring for a Spitfire :-)
February 27, 200620 yr i got the spitfire and its really good. since the scout has such a narrow cockpit i worry about blurry textures in the VC (cant stand that), although the big black space in the pedal room looks distracting, id prefer humand legs in it somehow, just to fill the empty space. was thinking a lot about getting the scout. maybe u could send me some 0.40 zoom pic of the VC with max texture size. the left window frame is the most important for me, may sound stupid but you see that frame like 100% of the time you fly.this VC looks very neat in screenshots, cant wait for the release: http://www.aerosoft.de/cgi-local/rd/ibosho...7198820,FS02212 regards, tom.
February 28, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Tom,When I create the graphics for our aircraft it is always a top priority to make all the VC textures clear and free of pixellation when viewed from the pilot's perspective and the Scout 2006 aircraft are no exception.I've attached a screenshot for you to look at. Note the placards on the window are clear enough to be readable (although the viewing angle makes it a little hard to read). The Spitfire actually has a narrower cockpit if that is any help.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143609.jpg
February 28, 200620 yr Author I love your work! As an owner of the FS9 Scout only, I'm was impressed with the new VC-only version. The clear and smooth gauges are a real joy to fly with. Thanks, and I look forward to any further projects by RealAir.Any chance on seeing a higher flying faster bush plane from you guys? - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
February 28, 200620 yr Commercial Member Thanks Orlaam! I'm very happy to hear that. Rob hinted on this in another Avsim post... we're seriously considering a certain light pressurised turbo-charged twin with a very well equipped IFR panel as our next project. We think we could make a really good attempt at an IFR tourer with these gauges, and Rob could work on accurately modelling asymetrical thrust and all the other nasty traits a twin has when one engine is stopped.
February 28, 200620 yr Author Sounds good! I like twins and fly IFR more than anything. :) - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
