FS9 Configurator for creating multiple FS9 cfg files,

Featured Replies

I have seen some tips at various sites that mention FS9 Configurator for the purpose of creating multiple FS9 cfg files, eg :HelicopterVarious terrain settingsI cant seem to work out how thats done, a little dubious about messing around with it by experimentation in case I bring down the whole house lol Thanks in advancePete :)I did post this in the FS Autostart/Configurator forum, but its very quiet in there. Probably due to the fact that these are 2 great progams and not many are having problems

Thanks a bundle, very much appreciated :)CheersPete

You're welcome. :-wave

Ok, I believe I have followed all the steps as in "david roch's tutorial" multexnt.zip, But I must be missing something?Heli.cfg <<<<

>Heli.cfg <<<<>"C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9FS9.EXE">/CFG:Heli <<<<<<< shortcut from the desktop>>>When I run the new shortcut FS9 seems not to see the new file>and loads FS9 as though it has just rebuilt the CFg file, with>all settings at default?>>Any help would be appreciatedAnd when you change the default settings at your will, and then reopen FS9 via the new shortcuts, does it retain the new settings? It should.Marco

Hi Marco, Im guessing it would actually, but the idea is I have changed just a few settings from my original file and it should load it from what I understand, that appears to be how all others do it I going on what I have read.CheersPete

Hi Pete,Where is HELI.cfg located (in which folder)? I have my unique config files in:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9The orignal Fs9.cfg is in Documents . . . (and I still use it if I need to get to the opening screen) but the new ones are in the flt sim root. R-

I have tried it in both locations, makes no difference?CheersPete

Does the path to your CFG file include spaces. If so, make sure to enclose the full path in quotes.

Thanks for the help guys, This is where I'm up too now.Im currently running the new cfg file from the FS9 root DIR.I have now called it: "Helicopter.CFG"When I run the file from the desktop, it creates a second file but with out the "CFG" at the end of the name, "Helicopter"I copied and pasted the info from "Helicopter.CFG" to "Helicopter"Then deleted "Helicopter.CFG".This seems to work, in other words the syntax CFG at the end of the name seems to cause a problem for me at least. I dont understand why?As far as the Batch file is concerned TV I will look at that, Its just that I have had no experience with batch files yet.The following is a partial quote from one of two tutorials I have been using, the info is much the same:Start quote>"Now hit paste again, and it will put another copy called Copy (2) of fs9.cfgKeep pasting till you have as many copies as you need. Leave the original copy alone, as that
