Saitek HOTAS (X55..) working in Windows 10?

Recommended Posts

I'm moving from a Win 7 Pro machine to a new Win 10 machine and I'm hoping to use my Saitek X-55 Think stick and throttle on the new machine. I know there were some serious issues with the Saitek drivers on Windows 10, but despite all my searching, posts on the topic seem to have dried up in the last 18 months. I don't know if things were ever resolved or if Saitek users were sort of screwed on W10. Can anybody give me current status?

If the drivers are stilled in chaos, my plan B was to simply use the plug n play default drivers and hope for the best, assigning buttons directly in P3D and XP11. However, if I try to install the Saitek drivers, I'm worried plan B will become a much more difficult option. Any advice appreciated before I start.

I have the Saitek X-55 HOTAS on my Windows 10 Pro with P3Dv4 and I am able to use the controllers after loading the drivers and HUS software from MadKatz. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to calibrate or test the controllers, When I access the properties from the control panel, or choose the Calibrate option in P3D, I see both controllers listed but when I click either the Test or the Calibrate tabs, nothing happens. This is odd since when I first got the X-55 about 2 months ago, the calibration and test windows worked fine. I am not sure if an update from P3D or MS screwed things up. I tried uninstalling and re-installing 64bit drivers and software but that has not worked.

Thanks Good at. Just noticed your reply to my list this morning. I'm really not sure the best way to proceed. Thinking maybe bypass the Saitek/Madcatz drivers and software altogether and use the win10 plug n play drivers and FSUIPC. Thoughts ?
