Calling Captain Keith....we're high and dry here....

Featured Replies

I just downloaded Captain Keith Panama adventure. It hasn't quite worked out for me in the way the good Captain indicated it would. The main problem is that there is no water and my boats are high and dry on the land, not floating in the water like in his screenshots.AND from a vertical view the island looks, well, square.Unfortunately, and this is the frustrating part, nowhere has Captain Keith left an email address so that I can tell him that the tide is out!So I am hoping that he is checking in here because he seems to indicate that the next phase will be payware which is unlikely to happen for me unless he can float my boat (in a manner of speaking).Looking forward to hearing from the Captain...

It's intriguing to me that someone would post some freeware here with the explicit intention of making the follow up payware and go to the effort of making a nice website but leave some glaring errors in the freeware.Afterall we're being invited to be beta-testers here but we're not left anywhere to send our comments.???

Are you sure the errors are Keith's? Are you absolutely, one-hundred percent certain that you didn't omit an important step, such as activating the scenery in the Scenery Library, exiting FS9, and then restarting it to allow the Scenery Index to be rebuilt? It's evident you haven't even taken the time to read the READ ME FIRST file, otherwise you wouldn't have asked about an email contact address... it is the very last line in the file! Also, you didn't read the KNOWN ISSUES file either, where it is stated:* This scenery was created using a "clean" landscape with default FS9 ground textures and no add-on mesh or other enhancements. With so many developers of replacement ground textures, mesh and landclass out there we can't support nor claim compatibility with all of them so we choose to use the default FS9 environment as our canvas. If you have an issue with overlapping ground textures or objects appear to be floating etc. please know that this is not an issue with our scenery but most likely a conflict with other add-on scenery software.

Bill,First of all, why are you so angry and rude? Do you work for Keith or are you just jumping to defend his honour? I was trying to get in touch with him and doing it with a modicum of ironic humour that you don't seem to understand.I know how to install scenery files, thanks. And with regard to his email address being at the bottom of the ReadMe file. No it's not. There is no ReadMe file in my download. Is you refering to the Avsim File there is no email address there either. The last line is a Website address. No email address on the website that I can see either. Now run that "take the time" quip by me again....Re "Known issues" I guess if that's it I'll just have to give this one up as lost. As far as I know I have no replacement textures or landclass in this area but I can't pull everything out of my FS install to find out.Nonetheless I am sure Keith will appreciate your 'pit-bull' approach to my trying to contact him. Oh, and please save the effort of flaming me again as I won't respond. I don't do flame wars. Thanks.

"Oh, and please save the effort of flaming me again as I won't respond. I don't do flame wars."And I am going to see that remains so--I did not see Bill "flaming" you in his comments--just a very defensive reaction on your part perhaps as a means to smokescreen the tone you brought into this thread. I don't know what package you downloaded or where you downloaded it from, but I found Keith's email right at the end of the readme in the package I found here, where Bill said it was. "Ironic humor" is somewhat challenging to pull off in a forum post, especially when you're an infrequent poster and people don't know you well. I don't see this thread serving any further purpose, so I am going to lock it.-John
