March 15, 200620 yr I always do Ctrl + W. It keeps me entertained on those long flightsCheersAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
March 15, 200620 yr Jacilore - Many thanks again. Guess what?...LOL! Now i've got too many aircraft to keep an eye on. You are right CTL+W is a freat feature to use and certainly worth knowing about. I'm watching so many other aircraft now that I forget all about my own. It's quite educational to me to see the finals and landings. Made me realise that most of my approaches are too high!Best of all, I had downloaded AFCAD2 some time ago but never actually used it. (Up until just a few months ago I would keep well away from any kind of tweaking) Yesterday I decided to try it out on EFHK.All I can say is..."WHAT A FANTASTIC PIECE OF FREEWARE!" Aren't we lucky to have access to these kinds of tools? I was mighty impressed with Lee Swordy's TTools and this is every bit as brilliant too. It is one of the easiest to use pieces of software I have ever had the pleasure of using. It's clear, concise, and faultless from what I can see....BRILLIANT! Helsinki Vantaa is completely transformed! Why on earth I didn't try it out several months ago I will never know. All you knowledgeable simmers that have posted on here were quite right with your diagnosis & recommendations. I am guilty of not explaining things well in the first instance, but your help has been invaluable to me. This in turn has helped me to build my confidence. I have finished EFHK to complete satisfaction and have started on other airports now too. 3 months ago I gto into repainting with PSP and other software and would love to get into building airports too. Not sure I have the head for that, but, with confidence building you never know.Out of interest how many of you design/build your own airports/scenery etc? Is this common or only for the very few with ample time and expertise? Thanks so much to each and every one of you for all your help and for taking an interest in my problems. God Bless!Scratch1964
March 15, 200620 yr Well I am glad that you got things figured out! Sure is a relief, isn't it? I am sorry that I was not able to help you more but my schedule and another stay in the hospital prevented me from coming back here and giving you more information. Thankfully, and as I thought others would hop in here and help you out. There are a lot of good people here willing to give up their flying time to help out a fellow simmer. As for your question I do build/design my own airports when I am unhappy with what is available to me. I do not have much time to spend on this so I basically just tweak things until I am happy with it and even then it is only the airports that I frequent a lot. I used to think that all of this would be daunting as well but I have found that the majority of the programs written to help improve FS are quite easy to use. I don't see any reason why everyone should not try some of these programs at least once if they have the smallest desire to make their FS experience better. I will say this though, if you are not willing to read the manual don't even try it! While most programs are easy to use you can do more harm than good if you do not do things properly. Welcome to the world of making FS a better place!!!!! As time goes on you will find it easier and easier until it all becomes second nature to you and that is a far site better than hoping someone else can help you to solve your problem. Now you can make the problems worse on your own! :-lol That was meant to be funny!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
March 16, 200620 yr Hello again Scratch: I think we are all very lucky to have those all those tools and designs to enjoy FS, and most of them freeware; so if besides we help each other what more can we ask for?For what regards to developing sceneries, I think I don't even have the time to learn. In the future I hope to make some changes for myself in a TFN scenery to go back to the 60's and 70's version of that airport. For the moment I have just mended some little things in some liveries with the help of a friend I have made by here.Regards
