March 21, 200620 yr Flying the R-R system in my MAAM DC-3 last nite brought back memories of a flight in the late 40's in Nova Scotia where as a guest in the cockpit I remarked to the PIC that the continuous morse for hours on end would drive me nuts. He reached over and turned down the volume and said that's where it's set most of the time and only brings it back up to check the status of his track. The sextant provided with the R-R program will be interesting to master for ocean transits. I do have a leg up on that since having used my White (non-bubble) sextant navigating surface vessels for a great many years. Kinda' fun reliving those days but I wouldn't trade in our new technology. Many thanks to the team who provided R-R for flight simming, appreciate the great deal of effort which went into this project and for making it as real as possible. Look forward to the Range Stations for the rest of the US and Canada.Gary :-beerchug
March 21, 200620 yr When I saw an E-6B was included, I went to the garage and retrievedmy old E-6B from my flight case. It's still in good condition. But I will need a refresher course. Some of it I've forgotten. Never learned the sextant though.
