Floating on Approach and Landing

Featured Replies

Hello,

start practicing with Carenado 390. Now I managed to have APPR FMS but when I am at the runway thresold instead of following the descent path the plane starts "floating", with a flare/nose up attitude that instead on getting me on the ground makes the plane gaining altitude...what should i do? anything wrong...

Advice would be very appreacuiated...

Thanks a lot.

Are you trying to fly the equivalent of an autoland?

Yes, I mean...with FMS APPR engaged the plane follows the descent path (both laterally and vertically) 'til the runway thresold then this strange behavior  starts...I thought the plane would have followed FMS APPR 'til touchdown...am I wrong ...also, does it have anything to do with the LIFT DUMP, which I still have not figured out what is it for???

Thanks for reply

There's no autoland on the Premier I. You have to disengage the AP latest at 200ft AGL and land the plane manually.

Lift dump doesn't have anything to do with it. It does what the name says; it dumps lift after nosewheel touchdown.
