April 4, 200620 yr Has anyone seen this issue before? After I validate my key, the Wrapper builds a 300 meg. executable which is used to install the program. Problem is, mine keeps getting damaged, and fails usually between 10 and 30 percent of the way through the install. I've even tried running it in Windows "Safe" mode, and it still fails. I'd rather install the product vs. getting a refund, but I'm at my wits end. Any ideas? I thought I'd ask here first. I've already contacted Flight1 Support but have received no answer, although it's only been twelve hours.-John
April 4, 200620 yr Have you redownloaded the whole package? Sometimes the download gets corrupted. This happened when I bought the Commander. The module let me purchase, but the install was corrupt. I just downloaded a new copy and reinstalled and everything worked great. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
April 4, 200620 yr I've redownloaded it several times now. What's funny is I sometimes can run the installer and it will make it to ten percent, sometimes it gets past that and makes it to twenty, but then it chokes. I wonder if the size of the package vs. my available memory is what's causing the issue? The largest Flight1 package I've downloaded in the past is around 50 megs, so this exceeds it by a fair margin.-John
April 4, 200620 yr The problem is fixed!I redownloaded the wrapper for the fourth time, but prior to that turned off DMA on my hard drive, on the off chance it was causing a problem (once eons ago I remembered a similar issue). It was either DMA or luck, but the entire package installed!-JohnEdit: What a great package. I took a gamble installing it on my 'ol P3-800, and no impact whatsoever--other than a huge enhancement to VFR flight. As usual I'm the last to the party, but from five minutes of flying I'd say dollar for dollar, this is the best add-on I've ever installed!
April 4, 200620 yr John,Make sure you are running the installer from a folder on your hard drive and not from the desktop. That can cause a problem with that installer.
April 4, 200620 yr As noted in my earlier post, I got the install to work, but only after I turned DMA off, downloaded the wrapper, and validated my license key. All is well now and my HD DMA is turned back on, and I've also installed USA Roads in FS2002 which adds a bit of new life for VFR flight to that sim.I'm only using the major roads, which are far more thorough than I thought they'd be. I thought they'd include just the major freeways, but they include many secondary roads. I was just flying over Phoenix at night in FS2002 and you could make out the major 4-6 lane crosstreets, which are spaced about one mile apart very well.I see quite a few screenshots that don't include this add-on, but I don't know how I've flown without it.-John
