November 17, 20178 yr Hi Everyone, After about a decade of being away from Flight Simming, here I am again. This time though, I decided to make the big shift to X-Plane, after being a hard-core FSX (MS Flight Sim) fan since it's very first version in the 1980's. !!! So I'm playing around with Ortho4XP, I strictly followed the instructions from various sources, they all worked EXCEPT that my final texture is showing the Roadmaps (with labels) instead of the real Photorealistic textures! I have tried both BI and OSM sources but I prefer OSM because it has better, crisper, higher res details in my area at 10, 123 Mactan International airport in Cebu City Philippines http://openstreetmap.org.ph/map/cebu?q=cebu My guide is from this post : Am I doing something wrong or is there anything I missed at all? I love the idea of Ortho4XP because for so long I've been wanting add-on scenery in my area, at least the textures! Appreciate your comments and/suggestions. Thanks, Santiago
November 17, 20178 yr Using Bing as the source should give you ortho photos, but using OSM as the source will give you a roadmap, obviously not the desired result. If you did use BI as the source, I have no idea why it wouldn't be working. November 17, 20178 yr Author You're right @turnandbank, OSM gives me Roadmaps. I did however used Arc as the Bing shows very hazy image (there's some cloud cover when the pics were taken). The scenery looks so stunning! If only I can figure out how to attach image here would be great.. looks like i can't get the image to attach using the "insert image from URL" option (lower right). I have the images uploaded to dropbox. Thanks!
