April 8, 200620 yr The C-130 is driving me up the wall and I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Here's my problem.I load Fs9 with the default flight (Cessna 172 up and running, ready for takeoff).Of course that is not the plane I want to fly and I load the flight at pope AFB (cold and dark)First thing that strikes me as rather odd: I hear the nearby VOR- beacon through the speakers. I should think that cold and dark also means quiet and no power to whatever receiver...? And, funny enough, when I check the power, I find myself hooked up with external power and thus NOT cold and dark. Anybody an idea?Ok, I can live with that as it is not such a big deal. So I get ready for the engine start (following the tutorial) and low and behold, radios work, navigation works, engines are running and I can taxi to the runway. I take off normally and, always following the tutorial, I switch on the autopilot... For about 5, maybe 6 minutes, everything runs normal and then the AP shuts down, radios are dead (they give me still freq. indications but I can't change them anymore). At that moment, there is no way I can get them back to work...So, I start all over again and it happens all over again...When I try to relocate the 'Herc' from Pope AFB to another location before enfinestart, I can't even turn on the radios...I have read the capt. sim forum about this problem but I still don't find an answer to my problem. I am at the end of my patience with this aircraft and it won't take long anymore before I will remove this plane from my HD.So, If you think you know how to solve my problem, I will be greatfull 'till the end of day's. If there's no solution, it's one airplne for the scrapyard...Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgiumPS The sound of this aircraft is worthless... Abrupt changes in loudness, no continuity after engine start... I don't thing CS did a very good job on this one although the exterior is top notch... Pity the rest doesn't follow.
April 8, 200620 yr Hi Luc,I don't own the C-130, but the symptoms says that the battery might get drained. Do you have the generators on?Ulf B
April 8, 200620 yr Try the tutorial at:-http://www.fsstation.com/tutorials/It should sort out all your problems.Jon
April 8, 200620 yr Jon,Thanks for directing me to that tutorial. However, no luck sofar.I have tried to follow the steps in that tutorial but I still get the same problem. When I turn on the electrical power, I can turn on the radios but other than displaying freq. they don't seem to work.I hear the clicking of the knob but the displays don't change and I also can't switch between active and standby freq.So I guess there's something else that's wrong.I still can't figure out what it can be.By the way, How can I check which version I have. I bought mine on CD through Just Flight.Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium
April 9, 200620 yr Not being able to tune the radios is a known bug, and there is a service pack that addresses this problem. Have you downloaded and installed it yet?Cheers!Joel @ CYVR (near CYNJ, really) Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
