  1. I agree with Bob: open a ticket or ask on the forum. By the way, I don't know if this is related or not, but there's a bug with the 777 when trying to download the weather on the tablet: when you try to do so, the response is "Unable to fetch weather, please confirm ICAO code." I recently ran into this myself. According to Mathijs on the PMDG forum, this is a known problem and PMDG is working on a fix.
  2. Well ... that didn't end up the way I thought it would.
  3. Nice! Great to see my hometown, Vancouver, featured. By the way, poutine is more a Quebec thing--although you can find it in Vancouver. It's just not as good as what you can find in Montreal or Quebec City. I suggest wandering into downtown Vancouver for a JapaDog, going to Granville Island for some candied salmon and a Lee's donut, or going anywhere in Chinatown or Richmond for authentic Chinese food. 😀
  4. I'm seeing this phenomenon here in Canada. 😀
  5. I'm using the free version AdBlock Plus (for the first time ever because of Avsim), and it's working well.
  6. I just tried Microsoft Edge, on which I don't have any ad blocking extensions, and the intrusive ads are still showing.
  7. Okay, so I just installed the AdBlocker Plus extension to Chrome and Safari ... and it works! At least, so far it works. Weird. I didn't have these ads on any other website.
  8. I'm getting those ads now, too. They just started; it wasn't like this yesterday or even earlier today. It also doesn't matter which browser I use, Chrome or Safari, it's the same on both of them. So .. an ad blocker extension will work???
  9. Wow! Thanks! I do have 2020 installed, so I'll try this.
  10. I used AivlaSoft EFB v2 a lot with P3D, but I converted to MSFS 2020 last year and MSFS 2024 this year. I haven't tried the program until MSFS 2020/2024 at all, as I thought that it didn't work. Can it still be used in the same was as it was used under P3D?
  11. A Metroliner would be really cool...
  12. Darn! I was in San Antonio in December 2024 for about a week to attend an ACTE conference, but I didn't know that there was an Air Museum there. I would have loved to see it. Anyway, the San Antonio River Walk was lovely: my hotel was right beside it, and I walked along the river just about every day of the conference and sat outside in the evenings at some of the restaurants along the walk. I even saw the Alamo, though I have to admit that as a Canadian, it's significance was mostly lost on me.
  13. Absolutely! I see Q400s all the time flying to and from YVR ... and as a passenger I've flown on plenty myself over the years.
  14. At the gate, cold & dark. I love the feeling of the realism when I see aircraft at other gates as well as taxiing to the runway while I'm setting up the aircraft.
  15. An update on the weather here in Surrey, BC, just across the Fraser River from Vancouver, BC. Yesterday's high reached 14°C (57°F) and it was a beautiful, sunny day, and today the temperature is expected to be about the same. Yesterday, my wife and I went for a walk in a park along the Fraser River and saw three large bald-headed eagles. Although we do get some snow (around 1 inch or so) every now and then in most winters, it looks as if we may have the first snowless winter in 43 years, according to the CBC.
  16. To return to the weather around the world ... Currently 4°C (39°F) in Surrey, BC, Canada which is just south of Vancouver. It's supposed to start raining tonight and continue to the end of the week, with temperatures increasing to as high as 10°C (50°F) by the end of the week. The rest of Canada is getting hit pretty hard, I understand.

    Agreed.
  18. Also warnings for western Canada as well: https://www.emergencyinfobc.gov.bc.ca/event/tsunami-29jul25/
  19. In Canada, Dash 8s are still pretty common. WestJet, Air Canada, and Porter, to name only three airlines, still fly them.
  20. The crash happened in Toronto, Canada, which is still a sovereign nation. It will be investigated by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, with assistance from the NTSB and the FAA, as has been reported.
  21. Actually, I also use Active Sky Cloud Art
  22. Hi, A3 610, I'm still using P3D and enjoying it. My answers to your questions are below. P3D: v5.4 FSLabs - I also have the Aerosoft buses but haven't had them installed for a long, long time Active Sky for P3D v4/5 for sure I use ENVTEX Orbx for sure FSUIPC - paid version AIG - a little time-consuming to set up, but it's free and works very well Radar Contact - it's free and works pretty well. FSHud is good, too, but of course it's not free I don't use any tweaks to the cfg file at all I also suggest that you buy ChasePlane to set up cockpit and external views. Your hardware looks okay, although the processor might be considered to be a weakness these days. You'll have to dial back some of the settings, but you should still be able to have a good-looking and stable experience. Good luck!

    Prescient!
  24. For sure! My son has a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies and majored in percussion. He's now a professional musician and performs on the drums in a variety of genres. He is a session drummer for a number of jazz bands as well as the main drummer for two other bands. He's also played for a variety of rock bands, and he regularly travels around Canada for gigs. He's really living the life. Anyway, back to the skill of drumming. My son will often tell me about how he has to perform all sorts of complicated mathematics in his head realtime, especially when he plays jazz. It's hard to imagine how drummers can keep track of all of their limbs while simultaneously focussing on the music and keeping time for the other musicians. Pretty amazing, really.
