crazy co pilot

Featured Replies

Hi im using the demo just to see what its like or worth buying. Im finding when i talk to co-pilot  and ask him to do something its like talking to two different people at the same time. For example ill ask to release parking break and ill get a response of ok parking break released  but at the same time ill get the same voice saying the opposite thing  and is unable to do the command. it end up the the command no being carried out (also end up with me swearing at co-pilot lol )  This happen quite a lot with a lot of the commands Im sure its something im doing wrong or have set up wrong but i dont know what. If anyone dose id be grateful...and probably swear less too!

For the sake of the Demo,. best to keep Windows UAC enabled, install MCE to default C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew Experience\ folder and just set "fsx.exe" or/and "Prepar3D.exe" to run as admin.

That will guarantee MCE smooth communication with the sim.

What Windows version are you running?

What simulator and aircraft are you trying it on?

Are you using a launcher app like SimStarter or other to kick start the sim?

You may want to read this thread

Most issues in P3D are connected to one thing, <MCE dlls> folder.

Ideally, MCE installer detects P3D V4.1 installation path in registry and assuming Windows doesn't object to creating or copying files to a specific location, it should create a folder named <MCE dlls> in P3D root installation folder.

It should contain 32+ dlls, one for each supported complex aircraft under P3D V4

These dlls must be 64 Bit.

Based on support via e-mails, some users resort to all sorts of workarounds to get their other add-ons working. One of them is to disguise P3D V4 as P3D V3.

The consequence of this, MCE installer puts 32 bit dlls instead of the 64 Bit ones. As a result, you'd get a p3D freeze, or at best, nothing Fo tries to do works, because the action happens on the dll side. The Fo audio and speech recognition run in "mce.exe", outside the sim for better stability of the latter.

Suggest you delete <MCE dlls> folder in \Prepar3D v4\ installation folder.

Go back to downloaded unzipped Demo file and look under \Files\FSX\ folder.

Copy entire <MCE dlls x64> folder and paste it to \Prepar3D v4\ installation folder.

Important: Rename the folder to <MCE dlls>

Set "Prepar3D.exe" to run as admin.

Tell your anti-virus to trust both "Prepar3D.exe" and "mce.exe" (it is digitally signed anyway).

Not every single complex aircraft is supported. Many are, just not all of them.

Which complex aircraft are you flying?

Thanks for feedback.

Good to hear you're up and running.

Wait until you discover you can actually create custom commands to get the FO to do what you want (a chain of actions), when you want, and in the sequence you dictate. It's the Voxscript feature.

There are pre-made flows for the PMDG 737, PMDG 777, 747 QOTS which are all supported under P3D V4 as well.

You can modify them to suit ANY real world or virtual airline SOPs. Therefore, no arguing on who handles landing lights and when. You do the task sharing as you see fit

You can also assign the exact checklist your airline uses for the purpose of rehearsing it and training.

No other similar software on the planet, provides this sort of capability with complex aircraft. You are in charge.

A completely interactive crew simulation, NOT a "scripted adventure" where you sit there like a duck and wait for minute M1 to come into action using the exact phrase required by the manual. That wouldn't be fun
