Reality XP GNS 530 (x-plane) failed to complete installation

I purchased the above software on 12-7-2017 (latest update).  Anti-virus software turned off.  Everything loaded fine into the proper files, including the Garmin lite trainer.  However, I got a dialogue box at the very end of the installation that said: "Please wait while setup installs Reality XP Garmin GNS vs (x-plane) on your computer."   Completely frozen at this point and even the cancel button wouldn't work.  I had to kill it with Task Manager.  However, it appeared to have loaded anyway, except in a crippled version that didn't work properly (e.g., dial failed to advance the cursor when putting in a direct-to destination).   I removed all the software and reloaded and it did the same thing again even with the anti-virus software off.  My system is more than adequate to run X-Plane 11 with all the settings at near the highest values with frame rates in the 60's.  Windows 10.  Dell XPS with an i-7 and 16 GB ram with Geoforce 1060.  Not sure what the issue might be.  Happy for advice.  I was hoping to get this working and get on Pilot Edge.

Hi Stuart,

Did the message "Please wait while..." appeared before or after the RXP installer downloaded the GNS Trainer?

Did it successfully started the GNS trainer installation?

Once the trainer installation was done, did it activate the RXP installer window back, and then was stuck?

Have you checked "Display the User's Guide (pdf)" option and if so, what if you unselect it instead?

Thanks for the reply.  The frozen screen appeared at the very end, after the trainer was installed, because I found it on my hard drive.  However, I did not try to run the trainer alone to see if it was working.  I also unchecked the display user's guide at one point.  The reinstallation was clunky, but it appeared to have worked.  The main problem is that the Garmin 530W "GPS" bezels don't work properly in the free window and won't advance the cursors or the screens beyond the Nav mode.  However, I can run the Garmin in the free window from the X-plane 530 bezels after enabling "Use X-Plane GPS Commands."  I read through the manual and there was a line (number 17, page 17) that said the bezels would work properly once installed into the instrument panel, which I tried to do for the stock C-172SP.  However, no luck.  I've attached the modified RealityXP.GNS ini file below (from the C-172SP).  I bolded the font so that you can find it easily.  It looks like the compiler added additional lines to the inserted text as you can see.  The file below is what I copied from the .ini file after I ran X-Plane once with my changes.  

I also tried adding the text (from line 14 in the Reality XP manual) to the very end of the file (at the bottom) and at the end of the [GNS_530_1] sections.  Has anyone had luck with installation in the 172-SP? That aircraft comes with 2 options (standard panel and G-1000).  However, I used the stock panel to make my pixel measurements. 

Ideally, I'd like to be able to run the Garmin 530W from a free window on a separate monitor, just as X-plane allows  for their stock G530W.  But, I'd be OK with just being able to flip-flop the XP Garmin from the panel to an enlarged free window on the same screen.  This may be asking for too much.  At this point, I'd just like to get it working properly, either in the free window or preferably in the panel.

Seems to be working fine now after a few mods to the .ini file as recommended on this site.  However, the pop-out window GPS 530 outer bezel (right side) that advances the cursor doesn't work, but that can be run from the panel 530 bezel.  I can live with that.   Many thanks Bourrinopathe's recommendations on his thread.
