April 16, 200620 yr Hi,Has anyone noticed a problem while compiling FSNavDBC after installing the excellent VOZ v1.1? Mine seems to get stuck on 'VOZ Scenery' with the CPU charging along (? in a loop) at 100%. Can't imagine why as the VOZ SceneryScenery folder is only 13.6MB in size.Mike
April 17, 200620 yr It rips through it OK for me. I don't have a lot of other scenery installed though.RegardsAdrian
April 17, 200620 yr Author Thanks Adrian, BobWell, that's a strange one. I guess I'll just have to disable it temporarily if I install any airport/field scenery in future.Out of curiosity, does VOZ introduce any new airstrips?Cheers,Mike
April 17, 200620 yr go into your fsmodulesfsnav folder and delete the 2 scenery files. restart the computer, and try building the database again
April 18, 200620 yr Author Hi Alex,I did as you suggested but with the same result, I'm afraid.I unchecked 'VOZ Scenery' in the FSNavDBC and the database creation proceeded to completion without any problems. Also, I noted that CPU Usage in Task Manager was mostly around 40-50% with occasional bursts to 70%.Couple of other interesting observations:1. The 2 Scenery files (on completion) were larger in size from their previous deleted equivalents -Scenery.000 12,239 -> 12,527 KBScenery.001 9,852 -> 10,003 KB2. With VOZ Scenery activated (checked) in FSNavDBC the Paging File Usage continued to rise inexorably (with CPU Usage at 100%) until I got fed up after 10-15 minutes and tried to abort at around 600-700MB (somewhat reminiscent of the memory leak issue). Aborting was rewarded with 'not responding' in Task Manager. No such rise in PF Usage occurred when I ran the Database Creator with VOZ Scenery unchecked. Clearly FSNavDBC is getting stuck in a loop on my setup for some odd reason when VOZ Scenery is being scanned in FSNavDBC.I wonder whether anyone else has any ideas as to what may be happening here? It's quite intriguing and I do hate leaving unsolved puzzles ;)Cheers,Mike
April 19, 200620 yr >Bumping hopefully ;)>>MikeHi Mike, please could you post this issue on the VOZ support forums? There are a bunch of VOZ users could potentially assist you with testing this issue. It certainly seems to be a weird symptom you're getting. The VOZ forums are at the link on my sig, then select the forum menu.
April 19, 200620 yr Mike,I get the same issue, but not with VOZ. My rebuild gets stuck of some PNG freeware scenery I have installed. I gave up trying to figure it out months ago after I removed each file one by one and then in different combinations but always got the same result.BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr.com/bmbanister/BannerSig_BMBanister.jpgAMD Athlon XP 2600, Asus A7V600, 1GB PC3200 DDR, NVidia 128MB GeForce 6800, SB Live

This certainly is weird!Mike
