December 27, 20178 yr Ok, here goes. I am trying to run Pro ATC from my client machine. I have all the simconnect files set up correctly from the p3d redist/interface. I have checked and double checked to make sure all files are in the right area.I have run Makerwys.exe inside my p3d folder, along with the Lorby- SI Addon. When I run the start up P3D and then run the Simconnect test utility, it tells me, Connection to Flight Simulator via SP2 Simconnect Suceeded. So I guess my question is do I have this set up right? If so then there is somthing wrong with Pro ATC. What I'm trying to do in Pro ATC is read the scenery and it won't. Thank you, Bob
December 27, 20178 yr Bob, there seems to be an issue with makerwys on P3D v4.1. Try as I might, I could not get it to work on a network. Maybe you'll have better luck. Take a look at this link that provides info (and requires additional free software) http://www.pointsoftware.de/proatcxforum/forum/index.php/topic,2724.msg13587.html#msg13587 Mario Di Lauro
December 28, 20178 yr Author Hey Mano, thanks for answering , I did manage to get it straightened out. At least with Pro ATC.Not sure if you are running that program or you just can't get simconnect to work in general. Let me know if i can help. Bob
December 28, 20178 yr Good for you, Bob! My problem was ProATCx reading scenery from network machine to P3D v4. Kept telling me that makerws was not installed. Simconnect was properly configured (using AS16) that isn't the problem. Then I got into a whole issue regarding P3D v4.1 can use makerwys or needed an extra software - yada yada yada. I gave up, unfortunately. Mario Di Lauro
December 29, 20178 yr Author Hey Mario, this is the Pro ATC forum... I was pulling my hair out for nothing.... "don't use Read scenery button in ProAtcX on a network setup. It will simply not work ! Just run makerwys.exe in the root folder of your Flightsim. and then ProAtcX -> Import AIRAC -> start import ! Nothing else in this dialog. That's it. Again don't touch Read scenery on a network setup"..... Now the MakeRwys problem will work. You have to use a free software..From MakeRwys PDF..... "Prepar3D version 3 and 4 scenery installs abiding by the new L-M system for add-ons will NOT be seen by MakeRunways unless you install the free Lorby-SI AddonOrganizer program (use at least version 0.99). Although this is aimed specifically at Prepar3D version 4, the facility MakeRunways uses allows it to deal correctly with Prepar3D version 3 as well. MakeRunways will then automatically use that program to create a file called MakeRwys_Scenery.cfg in your P3D3 or P3D4 folder. This then gives it ALL the scenery layers with correct layering. MakeRunways It will then use that file instead of the original. The special CFG file will be left in the main P3D folder for your own reference to the priority ordering of your scenery, something difficult to do from all the XML files. However, for clearer views and facilities to change them around, use the AddonOrganizer program directly (only with Prepar3D version 4 though). Get AddonOrganizer for P3Dv4 from http://lorby-SI.weebly.com/downloads.html"..... Hope this helps
