Need help with AFCAD conversion

Featured Replies

hello

i'm trying to use some recent Ray Smith AFCADs in P3D V4.

Unfortunately, I think it's not always possible, but i need some expert advice to enlighten me or to confirm my findings

I downloaded the AFCAD (for example LFPO from Ray from the Avsim library), i open it with ADE 1.75 because I need to reset the draw flags (otherwise everything is covered with grass) and then recompile the AFCAD. After doing that I seem to have missing objects in P3D (like jetways not attached to buildings, see pic below on LFPO gate P10 for example). I tried another afcad (RJAA) and i have the same problem if i recompile it.

My understanding (according to the readme.txt) is that Ray Smith AFCADS are now using 'custom library objects'. Probably we can't just recompile those airports if we don't have those libraries on our PCs (maybe they are available as freeware but i just couldn't find any info about that).

If we can't recompile the afcads, my understanding is that we can't use them in P3D v4 because of the draw flags problem.

can maybe anyone try converting that AFCAD and see if it works for them or tell if my conclusions are right -> meaning that it's just not possible and i should not waste time on that

A : original Ray Smith Afcad file -> building ok but all green because of draw flag properties

B : after recompilation -> terrain ok but now there are missing objects and jetways are hanging with no attachments

Thank you and take care
