Hi all

New to these forums so I hope I am in the right place. I am looking to upgrade my monitor, primarily for use with P3D v4, although I do wish to use it with other games such as Train Simulator 2018, other random simulators and some first person shooters. My PC specs are below

Asus GTX 1080ti Strix - 11GB DDR 5

Intel Skylake 6700K @4.00 (can increase to 4.6ghz if needed)

16GB memory

Asus Z170 - A motherboard

Please ask if you want to know any of my other specs.

Ideally I have always wanted a 4K monitor but as with everyone else, I am factoring in refresh rate and gsync. I have found a lot of monitors with both gsync and 144hz refresh rate but only a 2560x1440 resolution. I have also found 4K monitors with one of gsync or a 144hz refresh rate missing. So effectively, what I am asking is, which one of those three specs do I leave out? I do not wish to pay more than £800. Any feedback at all is appreciated, whether it's a monitor recommendation or a specs opinion, I want to hear it.

What are your preferences for size and aspect ratio? I think these are the first parameters to consider.

Myself I bought recently a 35" 21:9 3440x1440 monitor. I found this combination, or also a 34" with the same aspect ratio, especially beneficial for flight simulation, as the shape of a plane (e.g. wing tip to tip, or fuselage length fits in nicely in the aspect ratio. I find the vertical height and resolution also very pleasing for non gaming work.

Sorry for the late reply. I like the feedback you gave me but I ultimately went with an ASUS 27" 1440p with a 165hz refresh rate and G sync. Thank you for your input though
