FSMETAR and FSUIPC question

Featured Replies

I do own a lic copy of FSUIPC but I still notice that the visibility changes are quite abrupt. So let's say Seattle is showing 5SM and Bremerton is showing 15SM, as soon as I hit the Bremerton *BANG* I have 15Sm visibility.Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or is it just the cloud changing causing this and a limit of FS2004 (say going from clear to partly cluody)?

Yes, the weather changes from station to station can be kind of abrupt in FS2004, which can be kind of shocking. With FSMetar, just make sure you have the basic setup boxes in FSUIPC selected/deselected per FSMetar's UserManual.pdf. After that, I found the abrupt changes can be somewhat reduced by increasing the seconds for Smooth Visibility Changes (FSUIPC/Visibilty tab/Smoothing Options.Make sure to activate (checked) the "Smooth visibility changes every __ seconds". Try 4 or 5 seconds and see what you think. Also, try 10 or so seconds for: "after weather cleared, delay smoothing by this many seconds_10"You may have to play with it a bit to slow the abrupt changes down to a more acceptable level.
