Need some help

I am having a Problem. My Flight Simulator toolbar keeps shutting down after about one hour of flight. when I hit the Alt button, FS2004 just disappears. Is there anyway to correct this? I do have alot of Paywear on the system that cost me alot of money and don't want to get rid of it because I am not sure I can redown load some of it. any help would be appreciated.

Well as far as the payware goes, as long as it's "legit" payware, a reinstall should and would not be a problem. As far as your toolbar goes assuming you mean the menu bar?, you get a CTD when you press alt to get the menu, right? or you you mean that fs just quits after a 1h flight?

Yes the tool bar on top just goes away and there is about an inch on the bottom that dissapears. If I hit the Alt to try and bring it back up the whole thing dissappears

Are you using DBS Walk and Follow? I have a similar problem when I use it. Haven't had the problem lately though. Can't say I know what I did to end it.Tim

no just weather and Radar contact are running with FS

Please note this happens to all aircraft and I'm not blaming anyone!Basically usually after a 3-4 hour flight generally on approach or sometimes even after an hour, whilst changing views from panel to spot view my FS toolbar drop down menus vanish and I am left with about a 1 cm strip of the panel view on the spot view. Also sometimes but not always if I change views again I get a black screen then crash.

Well an obvious suggestion would be to try different video drivers if you haven't already. I seem to remember someone saying that crashes such as those you mention are usually hardware related.Tim

I had this same issue after installing the PMDG 744, after that all aircraft did it after a bout an hour or so flight. The only way I was able to fix it was to totaly reinstall FS after deleting all traces of it. I read several posts about this issue and no one has an answer to what causes it or how to fix it...

I've never experienced this problem with FS9, but as a software engineer I've seen similar behavior when the application GDI Object count gets too high - you can check it the the Processes tab of Task Manager.AndrewK

I am having the same symptoms as of late that you are experiencing. But mine will occur a lot faster... maybe as soon as 15-20 minutes. I strongly believe my issue is a memory leak and yours might be the same.Try de-activating any scenery, aircraft, or even Module .dll files you have installed. Usually a big culprit can be a lanclass file in the wrong place but first you need to find the addon file(s) causing the issue. Sort of a process of elimination.I haven't found mine yet. It seams to happen as soon as I activate FS real weather but no proof yet. I may have to un-install a few packages to see if that makes any difference. I suspect one payware product but I am sure I would have heard more about this if it was effecting a lot of people so it just may be a conflict with my system alone.Hope this helps. Good luck.
