May 9, 200620 yr I have tried tweaking settings to improve the distance that items are drawn but it doesnt improve my system. If i take off and climb to designated altitude and look out my cockpit i can see lovely water textures near me but crappy bright blue water textures on the horizon that really ruin my experience. I think i applied some water textures from AVSIM but i wonder if anyone has any really nice looking textures that can run a little better?
May 9, 200620 yr I like to use the reflection set in waterenv.zip, and either use the base water textures included in that package or other darker ones. It gives a really convincing look; water has a lighter, more reflective appearance on the horizon and gets darker as you move over the top, like in real life.-Scott
May 9, 200620 yr Hi,The distance effect cannot be gotten rid of all together. It can be helped by reducing your visibility in FS04Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Is this true "reduce the visability?" ?I like to have the distance drawn early so i can make out airports on the horizon, i didnt realise that this would affect it too much.Ande

May 10, 200620 yr Hi Ande,Post a water screen shot of what you are seeing! What I have pictured that you are seeing is that transition distance where textures go from highly detailed to lower detailed. Over water this causes a "checker-board" look. Reducing the visibility hides this border.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
