AC To Buy New Boeing's........

Recommended Posts

It's in the news here (Toronto, Ont.) today that Air Canada has placed firm orders w/ Boeing for (18) 777-300ER's & (14) 787's. --Yes I did say 787's!--They will also be selling-off or retiring some of their older 767's.

Good on em. My uncle flies for AC and it is good to see them moving forward, as it would be for any airline today!Sad to see the 767 go at the same point, always liked those planes...

BTW, they are the launch customer for the 789.Their plan is to acquire enough new aircraft to replace the 767 fleet and part of the deal is that Boeing will buy back the Air Canada fleet of Airbus wide bodies.http://www.aircanada.com/en/news/video.html?src=hp_wnhttp://boeing.com/flash.htmlCheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

What happens to the Airbuses that Boeing buy? I think they have done this kind of deal a couple of times by now. Do they sell them to less prestigous airlines or something?-
