Problem with Feelthere 737 FMC...Can Anyone Help???

Featured Replies

Hey guys,I'm about running out of options. I'm trying to get the Feelthere PIC 737-300 to work on my system. I've posted on their forum, and been emailing back and forth with support (kudos to feelthere, by the way; support has been very prompt getting back to me with everything, but this issue is even perplexing them), but we haven't been able to figure anything out. I'm wondering if anyone here has had the same or similar problems...The issue is, for some reason the FMC won't recognize the nav database that is installed. I keep getting the "Nav database is out of date" message. And whenever I punch in an airport or navaid ICAO code, it comes up "not in database" on the CDU screen. So basically the FMS system is completely useless.Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it? Feelthere support told me to try getting a copy of microsoft office installed, because i guess they use the same database software. unfortunately, i don't have a copy of office with access handy, does anybody have any other ideas???I'm running windows xp service pack 1...Thanks,Marc

First of all get service pack 2 for Windows XP. You need the security...Second (and I hate to say this) uninstall and then reinstall the add-on. Don't bother updating the database with the current version. See what you get with just the basic install and let us know... :-)

I was just about to tell him that Chris, wow thanks... :-)

What does Microsoft office have to do with FS. I don't have it installed on my FS dedicated computer and have not had any problems with the 737pic FMS. About service pack 2, you may intall it if you wan't but there are other ways to secure your computer. I have heard some people have had trouble with FS after service pack 2 installation while others had no problem so do it at your own risk. I for one only have service pack 1 and have no need for service pack 2. My next windows update is called Vista.Regards, Carlos

I believe you need a special dll for the database jet engine, which is required for their navdata database. Not all flavors of Windows have that one installed and/or might have an older, incorrect version which has overwritten the original one from some other poorly programmed free- or payware. It's a nuisance, I agree, but some users have reported to run into problems with this issue.Good luck.

Do you know which DLL this is? I could send it to him if I indeed have it (which I should because mine works).Regards, Carlos

I think it's more complicated than that, because I do believe it was more than a dll, but the entire Jet Engine database. I think vic from FeelThere has posted a link somewhere pointing a MS website where you can download it. I'll look and post the link, if I can find it.Update: It requires a correct version of MDAC. But I haven't found the correct version yet. Apparently the one that comes with XP SP2 works just fine.

Hi Guys,I have the same problem, so I tried it on my other pc with office installed on it and bingo it worked first time, problem is its my work pc and not my sim pc!My next step is to get office installed on my sim pc to prove it and get on with flying this thing instead of trying to fix it.I even bought an electronic flight bag with moving map to run with it to get me by!!!
