February 2, 20188 yr I'm experimenting with using the GNS500 to replace GPS295 installations where by I've created a new version of the default gauge but I've removed the display and left the keys. The GNS530 works great in the Aerosoft Twin Otter using the default gps commands so by my logic this should work as well. The 500 screen fits nicely into vacant space and all of my buttons are clickable (I'm using Carenado's C185 to test this as it has a GPS295 in the VC). So all appears well except that the buttons don't seem to have any effect what so ever on the RXP GNS screen. I've dug through and re-checked and re-checked again every setting and referenced the AS Twotter config but I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas? Am I missing something? Have I perhaps misunderstood the function of UseSimGpsCmds = true ?

February 2, 20188 yr I made a copy of the stock GPS295 gauge and modified it by removing all of the code for the display portion. The buttons are all still clickable but there is no associated default GPS display. My intention was to use these to control the RXP GNS500 I then put in place of the stock display using UseSimGpsCmds = true in the ini. The panel.cfg entry looks like this: gauge00=gps295ctrl!gps295ctrl, 17,77,479,311 gauge01=rxpGNS2!GPS_500_1, 46,138,294,211,NOBEZEL gps295ctrl is my copy of the stock gps gauge sans display. Everything appears as it should when I load up the aircraft with my version of the 295 on the 3D 295 in the VC and the RXP GNS displays properly. The buttons just don't control the display. Perhaps I need to strip all the macros and things to just have them perform the GPS key functions even though that doesn't explain why it works on the Twotter AND the macros reference the GPS keys anyway.
