crazy mouse moving alone when entering fs2004

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a very strange problem with my mouse. When I enter FS2004 the mouse starts unrelentingly to go down to screen without touching it.Even when I quit the game the mouse is still moving alone. It desappears only when I reboot my pc.I don't have any clue of the problem origin. What is also very strange, is that I have a backup of my flight sim directory and when I replace the directory with the backup, then the problem desappears. But after some hours of flight after quiting the game, when I come back the next day problem with the mouse arise again.I fly essentially PMDG airplane on IVAO network. If someone has any clue how can I diagnose and resolve this issue, I'll be very gratefull.thank's in advance.olivier

If it's an Intellimouse then you have the same problem as me. I posted about this some months ago and I don't remember anyone coming up with a positive fix so I don't think there's anyway to fix it. I tried new drivers from Microsoft but it's still the same. It can be annoying but I've learned to live with it until I buy a new mouse.

This may sound really stupid but, get a decent mouse pad. Yes I know this is an obvious answer. Sorry if it is insulting. My optical mouse was doing crazy things and then I narrowed it down to the lack of a mouse pad - added a mouse pad and the problems went away.

Hi olivier, are you by any chance using the X52's for flight controls at all !if so, then I'm afraid that for the time being they have a small driver issue with this, and the only way to get around this right now is to disable the "Magic Mouse" in the hardware section.if you don't know how to do this then post back here and I'll go through it with you, it's straight forward enough.let us know,

Steve thank you very much indeed, that's a pretty interesting suggestion. Yes I effectively own a Saitek x 52 joystick. For the moment I've restored a fresh backup of fs2004, so it is working at that time. But tomorrow or very soon, the problem will come back, then I'll try your suggestion.Thank's again.Olivier
