Cannot inilialise voice recognition (Disregard problem fixed)

Hi all

All of a sudden I am getting the error "Cannot inilialise voice recognition. Ensure that you have a us english compatiable recogniser selected." I am using Windows 10. When I go into Control panel, Ease of Access, Advanced Speech Options I get "the necessary engine cannot be created. Please select a different engine or audio device." i then click on OK and the speech properties dialogue box pops up. It shows Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English - US). 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Disregard, problem fixed. I forgot to plug in my mike. Duh.
