February 20, 20188 yr I have been using VOX ATC 7.41 with P3D v4 for several months. Everything seems to be working fairly well, but when I contact ground control after clearing the runway I am always directed to a parking area - never an arrival gate. I only fly commercial aircraft and have "airline" listed in the ATC Settings. Flights are always begun at the gate indicated in the P3D flight planner. As far as I can tell, there is no place to select an arrival gate in P3D. Am I missing something in the VOX or P3D setup to assure that an arrival gate is assigned? Is there anywhere to assign or request arrival parking? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
February 20, 20188 yr You're not alone on this issue. There is no way of choosing a gate unless you have GSX also. A few things that you can try are as follows. First, lower the AI % level in VOXATC. Most users choose such a high AI level that most airports don't have enough gates to support such high AI aircraft densities. Second, make sure that your user aircraft's airline code matches the gate airline codes for the specific airport. I have probably edited 150 large stock airports with Airport Design Editor just to get the gate codes correct. Lastly, make sure that your user aircraft isn't too large and thus can't be accommodated by the gates at a specific airport.
February 22, 20188 yr Author Thanks for the reply. Regarding the AI aircraft, I have the P3D aircraft set at zero but I am also using UT Live. Could this be overwhelming the gate assignments if set too high? I'll try to tone it down to see what happens.
February 22, 20188 yr jimgem, I meant the AI setting in VOXATC. I'm trying guess at what your setup is, so bear with me. It is possible to use either VOXATC's AI and UTL's AI aircraft simultaneously but I would be careful with the two activity (%) settings. Even one of them at 30-40% can overwhelm almost every stock airport. I would probably start with 10% for VOXATC and 10% for UTL and see how that works at some of your newer 3rd party big airports. Of course in a split setup, VOXATC will only control and communicate with its own AI aircraft. That is, until the VOXATC developer releases the UTL bridge utility. Jay
