February 21, 20188 yr Commercial Member PFD, ND and CDU can be brought up in a 2D panel by clicking on them. Just a friendly and well intentioned note. The CDU in the pilots interface to/from the FMC. The FMC (Flight Management Computer) is located in a black box in the avionics bay, though many people call the CDU and FMC. It's technically correct to say you "entered" something into the FMC as that's where the data goes, but you enter the data via the CDU. Misunderstanding this phrase has lead to many people referring to the CDU as an FMC. .
