CONFUSED - Location of Export Flight Plan to GTN

Featured Replies

I am a bit confused as to why I am seeing two different file locations for the same file.

Example - I create a flight plan and save it in PLN format - no problem it is where it should be - D:\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files

Then I export that plan to other format Garmin GTN GFP.

If I go to the export folder - C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\F1TGTN\FPL - the GFP file is NOT there. When I do a search in my system the file shows up in - C:\Users\Dane\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\F1TGTN\FPL

Please help me to understand this or is this a problem?

Hi Dane,

that's a known problem with the Flight1 GTN plans.

A user does not have write access to the C:\Program Files folder and everything below. Therefore Windows moves any saved files into the virtual storage where they are visible only to LNM but not to the GTN. MS tries to keep programs from trashing each other without breaking them.

You have to adjust the permissions of the C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\F1TGTN\FPL folder. Take ownership of it or give full access to everybody. That will fix the problem.
