One hint seems to be the .exe that's triggering the error--HL2.EXE, Half Life 2, perhaps? Do you start FS9 after a clean boot and kill all unneeded processes prior to running? Or do you tend to start it during a Windows session where you've run other applications? I can't answer for counter strike, but I know FS9 does not want other applications using its resources.-John

I think it's a bad install of your video card drivers. I googled "the memory could not be "read" and came up with this outstanding forum discussing the same problem as you have.
