Change the default startup

Featured Replies

I was wondering if there is a way to change the default plane? Also if I can change the plane is there any way to have the plane all "off" or in a cold start configuration?

Sure, pick the airraft you want, go to where you want to start, turn everything off, wait about a minute for all to be completely off, then go to save the flight. There will be a box to make this flight your default and if you check it, then you will start in this plane, at this location in this condition.Word of warning, it's always best to start in the 2D, especially if using a detailed payware aircraft, keep from any problems when loading.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/tfbeta.jpg

Yes, of course. Set up your flight with the aircraft and conditions you want (airport, engine off, weather, etc). Then save it, and choose the option when saving to make it your default flight--just give the flight some name you'll remember. That will become your startup. My startup flight is in a King Air 200. cold and dark, in Bozeman Montana. Also, double-clicking a FLT file (the extension flights are saved with) will launch FS2004 using that file, overriding your default startup scenario.-John

Load the aircraft you want, at the airport you want, then shut the engines down. When you have the situation as you want it, click on "save flight", give it a name and check the "make this the default flight" box. I think that should do it.Russell.

Thank you all for the tip.
