P3D V4 Uninstall Problem

Featured Replies

Hello!

Recently my HDD with all my P3D files died. I bought a new one but i cant uninstall P3D because every time i try to do it this message occurs-the folder path P3D V4 contains an invalid character. After many tries i had the client uninstalled from my programs and features but the scenery and content are impossible to remove. And when i try to run the installer it says that i didnt uninstall the old version. Any help would be appreciated!

When you installed the new drive, I suspect you moved your P3D installation to the new drive.  So, for instance, if the old installation was on D Drive, did you rename the new drive D Drive because your registry is looking for D Drive (if installed originally on D Drive).

This is how you change a drive letter - https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-change-a-drive-letter-2626069

So, when you reinstalled the Client, the registry now has P3D located in that drive.  You uninstalled the Client.  Now delete the P3D folder as the Content and Scenery installations are not registered.  Now, reinstall P3D (Client, Content, and Scenery).  You will probably have to reinstall every addon too since you are no longer installing P3D on the same drive as you had before the installation of the new drive.
