May 15, 20188 yr Hi! I have a question.. During descent, I always hear the "Altitude" call or warning. How do I disable that? Thanks! Iching Lee from Taiwan
May 15, 20188 yr Administrators Look in your aircraft.cfg for something like this: [GPWS] max_warning_height = 1000 sink_rate_fpm = -1500 excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -2000 climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -100 flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100 Set the numbers to Off or possibly leave them blank. Altitude callouts probably starting around 2,500 feet are in a different area, more than likely in the panel.cfg. and they might look like this: gauge52=CALLOUT_SOUND!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,0,0, ./Sound/CALLOUT/Sound.ini gauge53=CALLOUT!CALLOUT2500, 0,0,0,0 gauge54=CALLOUT!CALLOUT1000, 0,0,0,0 gauge55=CALLOUT!CALLOUT500, 0,0,0,0 gauge56=CALLOUT!CALLOUT400, 0,0,0,0 gauge57=CALLOUT!CALLOUT300, 0,0,0,0 gauge58=CALLOUT!CALLOUT200, 0,0,0,0 gauge59=CALLOUT!CALLOUT100, 0,0,0,0 gauge60=CALLOUT!CALLOUT50, 0,0,0,0 gauge61=CALLOUT!CALLOUT40, 0,0,0,0 gauge62=CALLOUT!CALLOUT30, 0,0,0,0 gauge63=CALLOUT!CALLOUT20, 0,0,0,0 gauge64=CALLOUT!CALLOUT10, 0,0,0,0 To eliminate these, just place 2 slashes // in front of each line. Thanks a lot! But I mean it keeps calling "Altitude", not the number of altitude.. so is it the same way to disable it? Iching Lee from Taiwan

OK, so it's not giving you the altitudes but just the work "altitude" like it thinks your altitude is not correct? There should be a .wav file in either the aircraft sound folder or maybe in your Sim's main sound folder that can be either deleted or a slight change in the .wav file name will eliminate it. It would work..... but does that happen to others too? Or I have missed something or done something wrong to make this happen? It kept calling until I landed and kill the power..... so annoying and I thought maybe it was me...... Any ideas? Thanks again! Iching Lee from Taiwan

No ideas except, maybe, a corrupted installation or a pilot not flying his aircraft correctly? If you feel that everything is OK while you are on approach and your landing isn't harsh, then killing the annoying sound shouldn't hurt.
