Navigation Log crashes FS now.

Featured Replies

I filed a flight plan today and I wanted to see my navigation log. For some reason when I went to file- Navigation log the screen went black and was presented at 30sec later with FS9 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Fatal error unknown in details. How come this happened? I also had similar problems like this with the FS Kneeboard. Are these two connected somehow? How do I fix this issue? Any info would be appreciated.Thank You, Kurt.

Have you recently installed the IE Explorer Beta? If so, it may be your problem. You will either have to revert back to your earlier version, or do a search on this issue, there is a .DLL which has to be removed. If this isn't you issue, hopefully someone will come up with a solution.

I have Internet Explorer 6 but I haven't updated to the beta.

Did you recently update a video card driver? This happened to me too and it turned out to be a bad install of the video card drivers I recently updated. I had completely uninstalled FS9 and all addons and then reinstalled just FS9. I ran FS9 and the crashes still continued even with a fresh install so I knew it was external to FS9. I reinstalled the video card drivers and the problem was fixed. Hope this fixes your problem too.You might also rename your FS9.cfg and restart the sim and let the config rebuild itself as it could be corrupted.Best regards,JimYoung

Before doing anything destructive, ensure you have FSUIPC 3.65. I had a bunch of little problems (including CTD) with a prior version installed and all seems OK now.

Okay guys thank you, I called Micrsoft as well, and they told me it has something to do with Viewpoint Media Player. I was to remove viewpoint on my system. Now I am not sure how viewpoint gets onto your system. The way she explained it is that somehow it is installed in your system when you download 3rd party addons and she did kinda discourge adding more planes. Have you had any experience with this? Removing viewpoint did bring the navigation log back and the kneeboard but I hope installing aircraft won't bring viewpoint back or cause trouble with fs.Any info would be great.

> The way she explained it is>that somehow it is installed in your system when you download>3rd party addons and she did kinda discourge adding more>planes. :D Well, of course she did....right....Like not downloading more planes is an option... :DHave no idea what this 'program' is, but kinda doubtful it was installed with an aircraft, but I could be wrong.

I kinda am doubtful to that it installed from an aircraft. I also checked to see after I unistalled this if www.flightlevel350.com would work and it does to view aircraft videos. But whatever this program is I don't really remember bringing it into my computer. As for Microsoft she did say bring more planes in could cause it to become unstable, however I did install a Delta 737-800 from Posky without much trouble at all. So I hope that all this plaguing FS is over.On another note it also fixed my kneeboard as well, but I am not sure what the kneeboard really does and how to use it. I did put a flight plan in. but it doesn't show weather other things except for some checklists from the default aircraft.
