Voice pack installation on P3D

Featured Replies

I have MCE installed on P3D V4. When I tried to install a voice pack, it installed it to FSX and not P3D. How do I get the voice pack to install on P3D?

I suggest you un-install MCE via Windows control panel, then re-install to default path, C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew Experience\ folder.

You can then install voice packs once and MCE will detect which sim is running and connect to it.

This will also keep your FSX & P3D installations clean as we don't edit flight sim files.

We just add the following files and folders...

fsInsider.dll, fsInsider.ini and <MCE dlls> folder to FSX main installation folder.

fsInsider64.dll, fsInsider.ini and <MCE dlls> folder to \Prepar3D v4\ main installation folder.

Should you need to troubleshoot simulator failed starts, temporarily rename "fsInsider.dll" to "no-fsInsidwer.dll" and you would be back to pre-MCE installation, as far as the simulator is concerned, without the need to even un-install MCE. The latter runs as an external process, which you have to trigger manually.

Thank you for the reply. That is how I installed MCE. In the default folder. I was going on what the installation notice told me when it was done installing. That it installed in FSX.  I'll check further to see if it recognizes the new voice pack. Sorry, I should have checked that before posting.
