Captainsim B707 Flying FS Nav Plan.

Hi,I am just getting back into this aircraft after being busy for too long on other things,I can't for the life of me remember how to get this bird to fly a FS Nav flight plan route, could someone please remind me.Thanks,PS, I forgot, how do we get this bird to climb and capture a set altitude, EG if I want to take of and climb out to 6000, all I have been doing so far is engaging the autopilot and clicking on alt hold when close to it, then fine tuning it afterword, but there must be an easier way. Thanks again,

If you can't just push the button in FSNav the normal way, it maybe just not possible, sometimes these 3rd party developers do things in a different way than the stock ACs. As for the climb you cold push the climb side of the ap pitch knob at sufficient climb thrust and adjust it until your'e satisfied with the speed (FD swithed on). However, the coolest things with this big old bird are NOT the ap and systems. Handflying and old fasioned navigation is what it's best at IMHO. Don't you wanna fly at all? ;-)Eagle

If my memory serves me right, to have the autopilot fly your FS flight plan you need to put the autopilot on Nav/Loc, push the GPS light on the panel, and have the autopilot paddles up. I don't remember if you need need both paddles up, but at least the aileron paddle. The CS 707 autopilot will not capture an altitude, you have to do it manually as you described. My understanding is that the real 707 and 727 autpilot's would not capture an altitude either. The only easier way I know of is to have a copilot and second officer to help out like the real jets had. Or get a more modern add-on with altitude capture and autothrottle. This CS 707 is a real workout flying on Vatsim in IFR conditions,..but I do believe I've gotten some more hair on my chest since doing so. :) I read somehwere that two people will be able to fly the same plane in a pilot/copilot in FSX. If this is true I'm looking forward to flying the old jets in that scenario. If you like flying the old jets, try the Dreamfleet 727. It handles a lot smoother. I don't know if this is attributed to a better flight model, the difference in handling of the real aircraft, or both. It also has better night lighting, a believable EPR gauge, and more.Ted
