August 11, 20187 yr So, a while back, I mentioned stuttering on P3D v3.4.18.19475 with ChasePlane. I said that it isn't P3D's fault, as if I use P3D's default camera its silky smooth. I switched to ChasePlane beta and still stutters occur. I remember installing a freeware add-on scenery (KONT) and i noticed stuttering on ChasePlane. I removed the add-on scenery and its still affecting ChasePlane I heard if you set AffinityMask to a number thats compatible with your system, it'll stop ChasePlane from stuttering. I set Affinitymask to 64 and its silky smooth. But, now i have a new problem. The ground textures are poor resolution, and ground buildings take FOREVER to load. In order to fix this, i have to set my AffinityMask back (My original value for AffinityMask was 12) and it loads fine, but now im back to ChasePlane stuttering. I know that an incorrect AM value can cause textures to load slowly, so im trying to figure out what value is correct for my system. As for ChasePlane stuttering, I have no idea if it's a driver or the game itself, but it really is nagging me. August 11, 20187 yr Author The affinity mask calculator people have been telling me about is only up to 10 cores and 10 threads i have 6 cores and 12 threads. http://www.gatwick-fsg.org.uk/affinitymask.aspx?SubMenuItem=utilties Is there any other calculators out there that supports 6 cores and 12 threads? Also, im not too sure how to use the calculator, so i would like to use ALL cores and threads. Edited August 11, 20187 yr by Aaron Kim
August 11, 20187 yr Author I fixed it. All i had to do was delete the Prepar3D.cfg and let the game rebuild a new one.
March 4, 20197 yr For me rebuilding the cfg doesnt help. But closing and restarting Chaseplane while flying in P3DV4 DOES seem to work (so far), but only for a limited amount of time. After some flying it starts stuttering again 😞 Edited March 4, 20197 yr by Rene_Feijen MS FS 2020/2024 | 9800X3D | 64GB DDR5 6000mhz | ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX 5090 32GB GDDR7 OC EDITION | Varjo Aero | Navigraph | VATSIM | TPR Pedals | Virpil | Honeycomb | Winwing FCU + EFIS | Behringer X Touch Mini | SPAD.next
March 4, 20197 yr UPDATE: I deinstalled Chaseplane, then had to reinstall Trackir software and simconnect files, and Trackir now works fine, and P3DV4 works without stuttering. I DO miss Chaseplane now, the smooth changing of different views in-cockpit, but I do NOT miss the terrible stuttering (I have been working on this problem about 6 hours... changing graphic settings to very LOW, and assigning CPU cores to the process with Process Lasso).... I to have been having issues with CP. My question, do you have to reinstall TrackIR and simconnect after uninstalling CP in all instances? Ken Thompson i7-4790 @4 GHz 64 Bit Win 7 16G RAM GTX 1080Ti
March 5, 20197 yr Maybe it is not necessary, but I could not do it without installing TI again and simconnect running.
