August 22, 20187 yr Hi all, I want to build a GNS 650 panel in real life, I just have a few questions regarding interfacing: Is it possible to use the knobs on my panel with your software, because I want to interface my dual rotary knobs and push buttons. Is it possible to just export the screen of the GNS to my 5" touchscreen? And if so will it stay there every time I restart the sim? I also have a question about the GNS's functionality in addon planes, I see on the website of Carenado that the GTN 750 is fully supported in the 3d cockpit (for the Cessna 210). If I were to buy your 650 and just use it as a pop-up screen, would the GNS still work? Like would it have all of the functionality that the GTN 750 would have (except for the 3d integration of course)? Thank you for reading my questions, I hope that I can get an answer! Kind regards,
August 25, 20187 yr Hi, there are many discussions already in this forum about hardware integration, otherwise, you may also download our User's Manual directly from our website. In short, there are many different ways available to link the hardware to our software: via standard simulator GPS commands, via keyboard shortcuts, via our custom X-Plane commands. You may configure the GNS V2 and the GTN as popup window, with no-bezel option, and window size/position gets restored the next session, regardless the windows are popup or popout. I'm not sure to fully understand the last question though!?
August 25, 20187 yr Author Thanks for the reply! Your answers are very useful to me. The last question was about the functionality of the GNS 650 in the C210 without there being a 3D integration into the cockpit. Let me rephrase the question (sorry if it was a bit vague!): On the carenado website it says that the GTN 750 is integrated into the 3D cockpit when supported, now I noticed that the GTN 650 is not "Supported" into the 3D cockpit, does this mean that the 650 will have no use as a pop-out screen? Like will the GPS functionality of the plane still work without a 3D integration? Thanks again!
August 25, 20187 yr Thank you for the additional explanation. Yes it should work. "3D integration" usually just means the aircraft vendor has added a 3D model of the device in the 3D cockpit, with 3D knobs/mouse controllers.
