airport lights appear on final, dark from a distance!

Featured Replies

Hello! When I approach an airport in the dark, the VASI lights are visible from more than 10nm out. Then the runwaylights appear suddently at, say, 8nm, and the rest of the airport lights even closer to the airport. Is there a setting, adjusting the distance one can see the lights when on an approach?Regards,Tore Stabell Kulo,Oslo, Norway

The 8 miles out thing is actually rather realistic, the sudden popping into view however is now. Runway lights are a lot dimmer than most people realise, as bright lights tend to wash out a pilots night vision quickly.I seem to recall a setting in the fs9.cfg file, but I can't remember what it was. I know I set something that has made my lights not so prone to just popping into existance.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have.
