FSX-SE STEAM Security- A WARNING!

Last night I got a pop-up from STEAM telling me to verify my computer since it is new. When I bought this computer about two months ago, I had to install STEAM and thought at the time

that everything was squared away. I've flown several times since then with no problems. Last night I had to log in and verified through my e-mail. STEAM wanted me to install it again.

I did just that. The problem is, I lost all of my payware aircraft. There could be more missing such as my ORBX Scenery, I'll check.

I just wanted to get this out ASAP to warn others about this problem. I'll check back when I learn more.

I found the problem. My external hard drive power was accidentally un-pluged. After about fifteen minutes of computer work was able

to bring everything back to normal.

When I was a systems implementation lead and I would take my clients on network cutovers, if our software went flaky the first thing I would shout to my team is "Check the Cables"!

 

99 times out of 100 that would prevent a cutover crisis.
