R emaining distance?

Featured Replies

When i descend in the default 737-400 it would be nice to be able to see the remaining distance somewhere so I - every now and then - could monitor if the decend-rate is OK. Anybody knows how this could be done? As far as I understand the defauly GPS Garmin 500 is not able to show me distance remaing.Best RegardsLars

Hi,i think the Garmins do show the distance remaining to your airport in the top rh corner- as long as you have a flight plan set up and the pink line working!Without a flight plan then the VORs will show distance via the DME and will click down as you approach them. Andy.ps. sometimes i set up flight plans, print them off and then cancel the flight plan, as I find the pink line irritating- but the print out will show you distances and bearings etc.A.

Yes, you are right "limonadedrinker". In the default Garmin GPS500 I can see the cummulated distance to my arrival airport in the waypointlist. I was not aware of this, thank you for your help!BRLars

:-beerchug Andy.

Hi again,Further to my post- the Garmins will show, on the 'Nearest' pages, distances to, and bearings to, airports,NDBs and VORs so there is no real need to make a flight plan at all! Andy.

tune the airport VOR or a close one in the nav1 radio and you will get the distance on the hsi
