CameraPositionX and P3dv4.3 keys for moving the camera

Featured Replies

Hi,

yesterday I bought CPX, following the manual included in the program I noticed that the chapter 3.3 Camera Control reports  the keys combination in order to move the eye view.

I have P3dv4.3 and except Ctrl&+ , Ctrl&- Ctrl&Enter the others keys do not match those indicated. Not a problem, with try&error I found the corrtect ones.

The only movement I could not find is for Z axes Move Back.

Any suggestions?

Hello Flavio,

the keys in CPX are separate from P3D. They have nothing to do with the P3D internal eyepoint movement controls. You should use the CPX keys when positioning a camera, otherwise that may not work (= the camera moves but the x,y,z values on the CPX main screen don't change). The keyboard combinations are definitely correct, what is listed in the manual is what the application listens for.

But it is possible that the simulator or some other addons catches those events. To make sure that they reach CPX, the CPX window should have the focus (=click on the CPX Window and leave it like that until you are finished moving the camera and save the position), and you may have to toggle the num lock.

Best regards

Thank you, I will try.

OK it works. My mistake was the num lock 🙄

Now another problem. I create a new Aircraft camera, saved as new camera, then both manual and automatic reload ... P3dv4.3 crashes also having disabled AI and Ground vehicles.

Haven't had that before, but I am sure that it has nothing to do with your simulator settings. What aircraft are you trying to create a camera for? Does it happen for all aircraft or only special ones? Do you have other addons that may not like a reload? What version of P3D are you using exactly?

You don't have to reload the aircraft. You can also leave it on manual and just create your camera positions. Then shut CPX down and restart the simulator.

If you require further support, please use the email address that is on the last page of the manual. Remember to include proof of purchase (shop and order number)

Hi,

I have P3dv4.3 , no other addons (specially camera manager ones) , the aircraft for which I create new cameras is the new Aerosoft Airbus A318 Professional.

I will try with a default aircraft and I will let you know.

Many thanks

My problem is that many (not all) of the keyboard shortcuts are either not working in p3d or do something different. The focus is on the Camera program. For example Ctrl & Num pad 2 or 8 do nothing (pan up/down). In fact none of the Ctrl & commands work.Shift & Ctrl & 3 tilts! I have I think Net 4.5 & higher versions all updated. The Camera X version is 1.25 b05.One possibility is that my Dell keyboard has the number keys but no num lock. However some of the Key commands work correctly.Flavio1 worked out the correct commands but I have no idea how to. Could he please share this as at present this litle program is useless. If its the absence of a num lock key then I cannot get a new keyboard just to resolve this .Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hi,

as I told Flavio too, the correct commands are no secret, they are listed in the CPX manual. There is nothing else, anywhere.

When a keyboard combination is not working, then it usually is something in the sim that is blocking it - or in your case, the fact that you don't have a NumLock key - which is quite odd. This is the first time that I hear of a keyboard like that in three years of CameraPositionX.

As a last resort, if the CPX keyboard combos are not working neither in the sim nor on the app window, you can try to use the simulator's eyepoint controls to move the camera. CPX will pick those up too. You will find these commands in the P3D controls settings: Top menu -> Options -> Controls -> Event Category "Views"

Best regards

I am most grateful to you because "playing" with this all day has distracted me from my severe back pain without taking pain killers! Anyway my now ex-Dell keyboard which has no num lock key has been replaced with one I have borrowed from my son which does-he is away at present so will not mind. This appears to solve the problem on p3dv3 so I expect it will on v4 which is on another Partition. So thanks for that as well.Very speedy response appreciated
