How important is this in reference to P3D?  I currently run a 4790k and in the market for say a 8700k or 9700k should I be looking for a cpu with more than the other?

don't let it be theee reason to choose it over the 8700k,  the 8600k carries the least amount and does just fine with p3d

I believe Not only on P3D or games, but on CPU performance.

See this CPU cache and this  Does L3 Matter for Gaming?

But as FunknNasty wrote "don't let it be theee reason to choose it over the 8700k,  the 8600k carries the least amount and does just fine with p3d "
