August 31, 200619 yr helloI have a Realscene 2004, which claims it covers the whole US. Now I havn't traveled to all the locations but am pretty happy with the software, does a nice job. I have been pretty recently thought aout investing in ultimate terrain. My concern is that if I do, I might be shooting myself in the foot with redundant peices of software that cover about the same area, and do the same task. I guess my question is would I be better off as far as opinion goes to keep my money and invest it into something else, or would I be benifited by having the MESH data from UT USA as well?ThanksZach Bender K7LTF
August 31, 200619 yr UT does not do mesh. It has landclass, every road and railway line as well as some neat night lighting effects. It's in my must have pile with GE Pro. Al Stiff
August 31, 200619 yr Realscene are textures. Ultimate Terrain is landclass, roads and coastlines and some urban texture revisions, related to industrial areas and golf courses/ public spaces, as well as night texturesMesh is entirely separate from either but BOTH benefit massively from higher quality mesh as they allow the textures to `map` around the revised ground surface levels much better, making the shadows and lighting look much more real.Allcott
