Bad FSX Setting Bug - Fixed!

Featured Replies

I'd post this in the big "Organized" thread, but I'm afraid it would get lost. I've just found out that a bug I have (sliders that won't move) is only part of a bigger problem. The buttons/tabs/whatever you use to change between different setting screens in the Customize screen are not visible. (I found out that, through trial and error, I can tab to the invisible controls and change pages that way, but I still have the slider problem.) Pics of what I see for setting screens are here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...264&page=#16668I already know uninstalling and reinstalling won't fix this, and as far as I know so far I'm the only one experiencing this issue, which makes me worried that it'll carry over to the full version."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

If anyone else encounters this problem, I figured out what was causing it: WindowblindsDisabling "Visual Themes" in FSX.exe Properties|Compatability will cause WindowBlinds to ignore FSX."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

Simple answer: disable WindowBlinds. At least for me, it isn't compatible with FS9 and probably FSX.

BTW, you might want to check out the more detailed options after loading an aircraft in the the UI from the top menu bar... ;)

Disabling "Visual Themes" for a program isn't hard to do and lets you disable WindowBlinds for a particular program without getting rid of it for other stuff. WindowBlinds also has built-in ways to control what programs it affects or doesn't affect, but I'm not sure if they work quite as well."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
