August 15, 200619 yr I like the shots, but that's too much for an overcast layer. IRL flying in the south during the spring is kind of fun because sometimes we'll get stretches of low deck days. Case and point, I flew IFR (as I have been for about 10 years now) 4 days in a row last spring where there was a solid overcast I broke through at 400'. "Breaking out" of an overcast layer can be replicated, but the 8/8 overcast hasn't been true in fs in a while. Remember Flight Assignment: ATP? :( I'll try to get a screen shot of the overcast. IIRC you couldn't see the ground.In the demo, if you try to make an overcast layer of 500ft, visibility of 1/16, you still see the ground through the 'overcast' cloud layer, albeit very faintly.
