Cant install GTN750 update (resolved)

Featured Replies

Every time I try the updater I get a 404 error saying Garmin trainer not found or something similar. I read the forum and reinstalled the latest Garmin trainer but no joy keeps coming up with 404 error. I tried downloading the complete package again and installing that but it tells me the key file is not valid which it is. I then tried the f1 install and it says they don't have a record of me owning it, although on my account on f1 site it does list the Reality XP.

I am at a loss now.

Help !!!!!!!!!

A wee update, ive followed the rxp store faq and got a new key file from F1 but it still comes up as invalid key. The only thing I thought was odd is that when I select the key file it copies the location and key file name into the box on the f1 wrapper. So my key file reads as starting with c as in c drive. Whereas the wrapper says the key file should start with my name. There is no way of editing the key file in the wrapper because it is greyed out.

I'm on x plane 11 by the way.

Thanks Grant.

Hi,

the key FILE would certainly start with your name, the PATH to the key file is certainly starting with a hard drive letter nonetheless.

Now, are you sure you are using the correct e-commerce installer (GTN 750 vs GTN 650) for your key?

Bingo, you're  right, wrong installer, I had searched for xplane 11 rxp gtn 750 installer and when the page opened I had downloaded the first one I saw. My fault entirely.

Thanks.

Now to try and get the vr hack working, I've made the file in word pad then moved it to the relevant location but no joy. Il keep searching for solutions.

I'm glad all is working now.

For the VR hack, you might want to read this discussion:

https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/168077-realityxp-gtn650750/&page=3&tab=comments#comment-1571276

PS: since it seems working great, it'll become a normal feature in the next update with no need for creating the 'enable' file anymore.

.Excellent, I got it working by copying an existing file in the preferences (not a text file) then changed the name to the hack, got a warning about changing extensions but is working fine.

Couldn't get it to work with the word pad file, my guess is that even tho I saved it as the hack it was still a .txt file. Couldn't figure out how to stop it being a txt file.

Anyhow it's working now.

Cheers.
